I’m surprised I managed to finish this. The writing was decent, the characters were interesting and the plot was mysterious enough to keep me going. But the magical realism theme was quite chaotic and I just ended up being confused the whole time.

It was a little bit slow to start and kind of confusing for me. But it was a good read and the ending was a cool way to twist it.

I don't have the spoons to write a proper review but I cannot refrain from expressing my biggest annoyance with the book that I can't let go of... so she mentioned having only $45 left in her bank account, and then only buying $10 worth of gas at one point before shit truly hits the fan, but somehow she never ran out of gas the whole time. I cannot conceive the car she drove to be gas-efficient so this is legitimately driving me insane.

Incredible! I recommended it to friends and coworkers before finishing it. The writing, characters, plot, everything was so enticing & captivating. I am sad it's over and ready to read again!
