Not sure how to rate this book. About 1/3rd of it was enjoyable and me nodding along - the absolute best was "Unnecessary Bloody Mary ingredients" - the one memorable one. For the rest of the book it was split between "meh, I know what that is, but don't care that much", (e.g., instruction manuals), and things I had no clue about whatsoever. Pointless, indeed.

It's a quirky and witty book, and makes me want to read more of Richard Osman's work for sure, but I definitely feel like I would have enjoyed this more if I'd watched the Pointless TV show or lived in the UK to appreciate what these other 33 pointless things were.

I found Osman far more original and charismatic than Armstrong, who's selections often seemed reaching. Mickey Mouse? Baby-on-Board Stickers? His comparably few enteries focused on things that irked him personally, rather than on those considered universally 'pointless'. I didn't think his presence in the book was required.

Great light-hearted reading which made me laugh and the quizzes entertained me- made me very competitive but also was fun. Grand cash-in.

I really enjoyed reading the parts that Richard had written, even if the topic wasn't incredibly interesting he made it more so. In contrast I found nearly all of Alexander's writing incredibly boring and arrogant, as if he wanted to portray to the rest of us that he studied English and therefore knew more about writing a book; however in doing so making even some interesting pointless items very dull. Overall this book did make me laugh and think about certain things that I do myself and reevaluate my opinion on things in life: a good read.

This book had some hilarious moments where I was laughing out loud but they were mostly at the beginning of the book. As the book went on I felt getting through it was more of a chore with only glimpses of the previous hilarity. 100 pointless things are a lot and I think a small book of maybe 20 or at a stretch 30 would have been enough.

However, a lot of the book was very relateable and it's a nice light read for when you're on the loo.

Ok, despite the fact that number 19 in this list is online reviews, I shall write a brief one anyway.
I love Pointless so I grabbed this eagerly. It didn't disappoint with a chatty, easy to read style.
For me it could have done with being a little longer, but maybe I was just disappointed to get to the end.
I'm still working on the states quiz though - 35 so far, Mr Osman!
