Second time around. Or third? Don't remember. I love these books and Helen is one of my favourite characters in the series. However she went a bit too far as far as wanting a baby so bad she actually used poor Erik. It all turned out well, of course. One thing I noticed this time around is that Karen's story felt more like a filler than anything else. It was distracting. I would have liked a bit more time with Erik and Helen as a married couple.

One thing did annoy me. I understand the friendship between the Sweet Magnolias, however, there's a limit to how much interfering in personal lives should be allowed. Maddie threatening to tell Erik about Helen's pregnancy is absolutely wrong and Helen should have said so. Meddling in your friends's lives is not friendship is just that, meddling. But, I do enjoy small town stories and happy endings so shall revisit the rest of the books.

Didn't like how a couple characters took a mean turn in order to force a conflict. Otherwise, drama was good on this one! All about Helen.

Woof. Just a few hours in and I can’t casually listen to this series anymore. Does my head in as I’m just trying to listen & fall asleep. This series is so so toxic and I will not be finishing it.

It was nice to finally get to see Helen for who she was. We have now seen a glimpse of each of the Sweet Magnolias.

Easy quick read. I saw the Netflix story first so I imagine the characters as looking like them ones on the show.

I ship Erik and Helen 100%. However, the fact that this 43 year-old woman lied about being on birth control to this man who clearly said he didn’t want any children just so that she could become a mother, and then, get this, WANTED TO JUST BREAK UP WITH HIM AND HAVE FULL CUSTODY OF THE CHILD. Yeah, that doesn’t sit well with me at all. For a really intelligent, mature lawyer to do such a horrible thing, I just couldn’t get on board with this. And for that reason, I had to dock off an entire star. Besides that I enjoyed the book. Solid 3 star book if it wasn’t for that horrible plan smh.

Really enjoy her books; love reading about characters from past books and catching up on the town.
