I enjoyed this book very much - i like when an author can surprise me! as time goes by, i'm finding i was a little put off by the overly neat ending, but i'm still mulling it over, which is always the sign of a good book. just put it in the hands of a patron looking for a good book! that's always fun, too.

Nature vs. nurture really come out to play where Ani is concerned. A lifetime's worth of invalidation, judgement, and disregard for one's traumas is more likely to leave them damaged than not, so of course building layers upon layers of protection feels like the safest thing to do. It's saddening how real this character's development seemed to be until I finished the last chapter and continued on to read What I Know, written and published by Jessica Knoll post-Luckiest Girl Alive, and I commend her strength.

Please look into trigger warnings before picking this up.

I hated this book. I hated Tifani and her superior ways, I hated the way it was compared to Gone Girl ( which everything is these days and it's getting irritating), even though there was no suspense. It was just bad. It wasn't for me.

An enthralling read - I couldn't put it down. Probably not the most intelligent of content, but it's certainly entertaining.
