One of the worst books I've ever read. The prose was grating from start to finish and often completely nonsensical. Like The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, this book proves that no matter how shit you are at writing, if you make up a story about Nazi Germany and make it as tragic and emotionally manipulative as possible, everybody will love it.
