3.5 Novellas are always a hit or miss for me. This was definitely a cute one with some great spice. It’s a great quick read for the summer. It was just a bit too quick for me. But I love the development of Bailey’s and Jake’s relationship.

This novella was rather disappointing. For one thing, jake wasn’t actually grumpy. Maybe he didn’t smoke a lot, but he certainly wasn’t grumpy. And the little boy, he was supposed to be in kindergarten, but he did all these sports and didn’t seem kindergarten-y.
I liked Bailey well enough, and Jake and Jayden too, but the book didn’t really work. The start of their relationship made sense and was sweet. But the big secret was weird to keep so secret and make a big deal of. And the breakup didn’t actually make sense. A lack of communication on something he never wanted to talk about anyway, so he freezes her out? I got serious red flags over that. I don’t care how good he was in bed, boy, BYE.

This was so good. A great novella that leaves you wanting for more. I wish it was a full length novel.

Meh. It was late, I was driving and sleepy. I wanted a quick book that I could finish and would keep me interested. It was open door romance novella that felt light and surface level. It was fine. I enjoyed it but wouldn't be sad if I hadn't read it.
