I couldn’t even get through the first month. The most useless, stupid, pseudo-intellectual-hyper-masculine book. Laughable if it wasn’t so bizarrely popular…

This is a daily devotional/page-a-day book that has a lot of substance on every page. If you haven’t read Robert Greene before this is the one to start with.

I treat this book as a workbook, like a journal. I have read most of Greene’s work. This one is the most approachable, I wrote so much between the pages as meditations for my life: career, mental models and reflections.

This book was outstanding!

Classic Greene writing, featuring amazing research with intriguing, inspiring, and engaging history and context.

I got so much out of this book.

As much as I enjoyed [b:The Daily Stoic: 366 Meditations for Clarity, Effectiveness, and Serenity|29093292|The Daily Stoic 366 Meditations for Clarity, Effectiveness, and Serenity|Ryan Holiday|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1462161080l/29093292._SX50_.jpg|49328756], I found that this book was even better for a "daily" reading. In fact, I liked them both so much, I would recommend reading both at the same time and getting two entries a day for the year.

I highly recommend reading this. Especially if you have not read Greene before. It is incredible!

“From the beginning of our existence as a species, we humans have depended on our connection to reality for our very survival and success … our ancestor had to become highly sensitive to their environment … to be aware, alert, and continually thinking about what the environment was telling them. The human brain evolved as an instrument for helping humans to not only detect changes, but also to slowly gain control of a treacherous environment.”

Apart from building good habits, rediscovering ourselves and living in the present i.e reconnecting to our reality keep us grounded in the moment to create a space for us to move forward and grow. This book is bits and pieces of Greene’s reputable work which covers on diverse theme of personal development that mirrors few philosophers and narrated to fit present day reality.

Definitely not a book for everyone especially if self-help books aren’t your cup of tea and you’re the kind who aren’t willing to listen, reflect, and learn from it. You do not have to take every suggestions from a book as it is, some pieces just fits in you and stays on your mind. I would personally recommend this book if you’d like a book you can always go back to or breeze through when in doubt and also a good intro to Greene’s work if you’d like to explore his ideas/other books.
