It makes me sad how much i didn't like this one. The first half screams "men writing women" on multiple levels. Meaning that Musso is the man who wrote this female character, and the MC is also an author who wrote that very same female character.
That being said in the second half they, for the most part, stopped hyperfocusing on how long her legs are and how much she can eat without gaining weight, which was much appreciated.
However, Musso starts writing like he's trying to make a movie, and I mean that in the worst way possible. It just didn't work, the constant switching between scenes and characters. Useless distraction that would maybe make a good visual but this is a book after all.
The twist in the end I didn't mind, because it's very characteristically Musso, but it could not save the whole book. It is unfortunate, just feels like a good premise waisted.

I felt a little bit disappointed at the end because I really started to love the idea of a book that can become reality. The time jump was a little rushed I think we could have got more action between Milo and Carole. I got a little too attached to Tom and when I found out that Billie was an actress I got equally mad as him. The acknowledgement ripped me from the fantasy world very
suddenly.
