Holy shit. This one has all the great parts of the first book, but improves on the parts i didn’t like.

Wade begins to rethink the lens he sees the world in, takes accountability, and grows as a person in every way

Friendship, teamwork, and community are the through lines of the story.

And the ENDING. That’s what made it a 5 star for me. My jaw was on the ground with the twist and the overall concept is wild and makes you think.

I was really excited about this book, but it really felt like the author was trying to stretch out the success of RP1. It’s a really slow start with lots of review and catch up from the end of the original contest win. While the plot ends up compelling in some ways, and there is a twist or two you might not see coming, it seemed like I was pretty much reading the same book twice. The nostalgia of RP1 just doesn’t hit the same way in RP2.
