This is a really cozy and lighthearted story with split perspective between a mom and daughter. It also splits the time period it is told in between the two time periods and has a good amount of RomCom thrown in.

The twists are not unexpected, but I really enjoyed this book and would read more from this author.

I couldn’t put this book down. I read it so quickly because it was all I could think about. I loved the storyline. I wish she would’ve been more mad/ talked more about how horrible her dad was to keep the letters. I also don’t understand why the mom didn’t try harder to get her daughter back. But overall I loved it.

Happy tears. I had forgotten how much I love Sarah Jio books.

I received an advanced copy of this book.

Val is a librarian in Seattle who inherits a bookshop in London from her mother than she hasn't seen or heard from since she was 12 years old. Coming off a divorce, Val heads to London, to deal with heartache from both her failed marriage, but her estranged relationship with her mother. Upon arrival in London, Val discovers the building that her mother owned, understands the charm of the neighborhood her mother settled in, and meets some of her mother's friends. Her mother had left a scavenger hunt for her that helps her understand more about the life her mother led here.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were relatable and the bookstore setting was charming.
