This truly was such an amazing book. If you’re and Emily Henry lover this book is perfect t for you and Miss Sarah Jio i will be mass purchasing all your works.

this story was so magnificent and heart touching and I can’t tell you how many quotes I wrote down. This story was describing two women’s shot at life and second chances and the intricate relationships between Mothers and daughters and children who forget that their parents were people before them. I loved this book and if i don’t find my own Eric I will be devastated.

I appreciate what Ms Jio was trying to do here but I think it would better serve her story if she decided up front if she was going to write a cozy, light romance or tackle the subjects of abandonment and emotional abuse in a serious way. Instead, she mixes the two. The former fails because the underlying premise of the story makes it impossible to keep the book cozy, light or even vaguely romantic. The latter fails because those very serious subjects are treated as plot points to move the chapters forward and never confronted in a meaningful way. So, the result is a disjointed story with deeply dislikable main characters. (The supporting cast is a mixed bag; some are relatable and sympathetic, and oftentimes lend a well-needed shot of comedy and others are simply horrible.)

Note on the audiobook version: the woman speaking for Valentine is spot on and excellent. The woman playing Eloise's part is not at all good. As the book is split almost 50/50 between the two narrators, that added to my discomfort listening to this book. Perhaps those who read the hard copy or ebook had an easier time of it...

I couldn’t put it down. So gripping and tragic and beautiful.

4.5 stars.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Adorable storyline, impeccable writing, likable characters, just a dash of romance. This book checked all my boxes! The story centers around Valentina, a newly single woman who starts over in a new country with a new venture, but an old pain in her heart. Her mother left when Valentina was still young, never to be heard from again. Until, she passes away and leaves her daughter a legacy: her beloved library. Valentina dove in head first and boy did I love every minute of her story! This is a must read!

Not bad… not great… just ok. I knew the ending a few chapters in… The characters and their stories were just a little to perfect… a little to everything comes together. Again not terrible, but nothing I would recommend.

With Love from London - 3.5/5⭐️

This is story of a daughter who has a troublesome relationship with a mother who left when she was young. After her mother’s death, she moves to London to try and understand her mom & why she left. As Val goes on the scavenger hunt left by her mom, Eloise, she realizes that nothing was as suspected throughout her childhood, that the hatred she experienced was based upon lies. The back and forth narratives between Val and Eloise helped me, as the reader, be able to explore their love, their mutual loss, as well as how their childhood feelings affected them as adults. Although an easy read, it was filled with laughs, tears and some internal examination as well.

Valentina’s estranged mother just died and left her a bookstore in London. The story goes between Valentina’s story in the present and Eloise’s (her mother’s) story in the past. I like the idea of the book and the concept of the relationships and bringing people together, but this book bored me so bad and I couldn’t wait to be finished with it. This really isn’t my favorite genre so that might have something to do with me not liking it. I was also pretty checked out with parts of it, so didn’t really follow the story. If you enjoy these types of books, this might be worth the read as it did get pretty good reviews and has 4 stars on Goodreads.

Sarah Jio wrote a book that is as heartwarming as it is heartbreaking. Every book lover should pick this one up.

With Love from London focuses on the estranged relationship between Valentina and her late mother Eloise in the most unique way. When Valentina finds out that her mother left her the most beautiful bookshop underneath an apartment, she is confused and overwhelmed to say the least. However , with the help of a revealing scavenger hunt her mother created for her before passing way and the support of her new found family, she discovers that happiness can be found in the most unusual of places.

I loved seeing Valentina mold into an independent and vivacious woman throughout this book. I adored all the friendships especially of course with Liza and Millie. There was so many twists and turns in this book, Sarah Jio truly made everything go into a full circle. This will definitely be a book that I reread in the future. I absolutely LOVED every part of it.

There are two timelines, one which is Valentinas present day and the other which is Eloise from the 60s until her death. I promise you, this is such a reward and fulfilling book that will although leave you emotional, will also give you so much closure.

PLEASE. read this!
