Heartbroken and also very satisfied by this duology - it is the perfect amount of story for me. Adored.

I hate to say it but this was almost a DNF. I forced myself to finish because I loved the first book but it just fell flat for me. After about 30% I really struggled to finish.

The second half of the book was much better than the first. Kirsi was the saving grace

For the most part I loved this book and the story it told. I loved that Raven and Bash were able to reconnect and that they truly seemed to love each other. I found the plot twists to also be pretty good except for the one at the end. Fuck you Nikos, I'm glad you're dead.

Now for what I didn't like. Kirsi's POV was largely unneeded. I didn't feel like it added much, and every time I came to her chapters, I lost reading momentum. Her continued love story with Nym was alright, but also felt super rushed for everything that was entailed.

Omg the ending left me disappointed.... major spoilers....

Everyone touching the books at the end swapped. The shifters to witches and vice-versa, Bash lost part of himself, and Raven lost her powers for the most part (she now has to have part of the book on her to use magic) and that just pissed me off. Raven was put through so much just to continue to be fucked over in the end. I'm very salty with that ending...

This was action packed from start to finish.
I love how the friendships that blossomed reminded me of ACOTAR’s ‘inner circle,’ the story telling was well thought out and engaging.
I loved the twists and turns, and didn’t predict any plot twists.
Raven and Bastian are end game. That is all.
This broke my heart, made it pound in suspense and made me smile throughout.
I like that not everything was a ‘perfect battle’ or a ‘perfect ending,’ there’s something really raw within that aspect.
I loved the ending, and I’m sorry this read is over!
