I really enjoyed the first book but this one did not hold up. I felt we drifted too far from the original plot and though I love some of the side characters much of this felt like unnecessary filler to me.

i liked this book but it definitely felt like it was dragging at some points

The first book was better, IMO. This one dragged in quite a few places. I think the second book could have been condensed to the important parts and combined with book 1 and it would have been a much better standalone story than a duology.
Also I’m realizing that a pet peeve of mine is when characters all of a sudden just “understand” the solution to the book’s problem out of the blue without any real assistance. Like hello I’ve been slogging along here with you for 800 pages, where did you all of a sudden pull this epiphany from?
But I digress. It’s a fine book. Not wonderful but pretty good.
I’m not sure if any of that was a spoiler but I said it was just in case.

I enjoyed this series quite a bit, however, I struggled a bit with this second book. Pacing was a bit off, and it felt like it dragged a bit. Otherwise, good duology.

This one was a little more scattered than the first IMO. I had a great time though.

I really could have done without Kirsi’s POVs though they didn’t really engage me and I think we could have still gotten to the end of the story well enough without them.

We added a lot of new characters in the book overall, almost too many to really get close to. Still completely worth the read though.
