Cute, but I just keep feeling like these witchy Romcoms are missing something for me

I wish I had read this book in the spring as it takes place in the spring and it’s important to the plot.

I've given shaky 4 stars to the first book and I'm giving solid 4 stars to this one.
Being back in Thistle Grove felt as cozy as the first time. The story bring written from an Avramov point of view was a nice change. The themes of friends and family followed from the first book.
Isidora's fears of betraying her family felt like fears that many young people face when discovering themselves.
The conflict between Issa and Rowan was hinted at in the first book but we never got to know what went down between them. I'm glad we got to know in this book!
I felt that the first book was much more focused on romance and that it was in general much more intense than this one. However, I wouldn't say it's necessarily a bad thing.
The descriptions were easier to follow, the characters were MUCH more mature and the setting managed to stay cozy even though it was set in spring.
The mystery they were trying to solve and its solving made sense (the clues were explainable).

I'm excited for the third book!

Fun spring read, but I liked Payback's A Witch better.
