Killer Gorillas! And diamonds! It's jungle exploration at it's most action-y. There's Guns! There's Ancient Temples! There's a Gorilla that speaks Sign Language! There's no part for Tim Currey even though he's in the movie! I liked it, I read it before seeing the movie specifically because I heard the movie was so bad. I actually liked it a great deal. It was fun.

I enjoyed reading this story, however there was a lot of description of how computers work, how diamonds work, and how gorillas work which really slowed down the story for me.

I loved the plot except for the lack of a satisfying ending! I wanted to know what happened to the grey gorillas! Everyone just forgot this new species existed after they escaped the Congo? Even the animal scientist!? Get real.
medium-paced

I am a fan of Michael Crichton's writings. I love the detail and research that he pours into his books. That being said, Congo was bizarre yet forgettable.

Not sure how I feel about this one. The ending was a bit abrupt and I wanted more
