It was a good story but I felt that it was a bit unbalanced. The build up took about 3/4 of the book and felt like a low simmer. The ending, while exciting, felt rushed. I liked the different perspectives for each chapter, but I couldn't really connect with any of the characters.

I've done it! After nearly a year I finally picked this up and finished it. It was no fault of the book's, but entirely my own disinterest at first. But once I got back in, I was quickly hooked. I don't often read mystery and suspense, but I now have a few other options poking at my TBR. This one definitely had me having to set the book down and breathe from the creep factor once or twice (I'm a big chicken, I know.) In the end I'm glad I decided to pick it up again rather than toss it in the DNF pile.

I guess the ending of this one but I enjoyed the characterization much more than The Shadows.
