Did I love this? Not really. I like more character driven narratives and this felt more... Morality driven? Idk. But hey, what can you expect from a play written back when Shakespeare was still toddling around (okay google feels me Shakespeare was nearly 30 but whatever, same thing).

Anyway, discussing it in class has given me more of an appreciation for bits of it, there was some interesting supplementary material, and I'm glad to have finally read my first Marlowe play.

pretty funny and i can see the origin of the faustic pact (is that what you call it in English??) but it was also kind of lame

+ fun, expanded contextual knowledge of master and margarita

I actually could not put this down. Masterfully written, extremely thought-provoking, and exactly the kind of poetry I like to read.

Strange...

This was hilarious. I'm not 100% sure it's meant to be, but when Faustus is invisible and freaks out the Pope I'm pretty sure Marlowe wants his audience to laugh.

feels pretty straightforward… idk. faustus simply wanted more knowledge!!!!!!!!! kind of liked how it was more about intellectual dissatisfaction than power and greed necessarily + despite his intellect he seems very easily swayed. alexander the great and helen of troy cameos went hard.

Started off as a good story, and a very interesting idea, but it just felt incomplete.
