Quick read, not very thrilling for a thriller. Too much telling and not showing for me. Instantly forgettable.

The Trad Wife’s Secret dragged—literally. The audiobook at 1x speed felt like it was crawling, and I found myself comfortably listening at 3x just to stay awake. The story itself was unnecessarily long, padded with dull moments that made it hard to stay invested. Yes, the final twists offered a bit of a spark, but they weren’t nearly strong enough to justify the slow, winding road to get there.

If you're expecting a gripping domestic thriller… don't hold your breath.

Read this quick enough (3 hours ish) that I could bring it back to the bookstore and get it half refunded (nice). This read like it was written by someone who barely understands internet culture but finds it really interesting on a surface-level. Why would incels hate tradwives, isn’t that the exact way they think women should be? It makes no sense

Oh also I think that it shouldve delved deeper into the tradwife politics but it just kind of didn’t, even bordered on agreeing with it it seems…

The Tradwifes Secret
By Liane Child
Narrated by Lauryn Allman

Published May 27,2025

The twists in this that I NEVER saw coming had me on the edge of my chair. Madison March has a “perfect” life, or so her followers think she does. There was so much drama and secrets and SO MANY lies. I had never heard this term before this book, but it makes sense now. But this was a great thriller!

Thank you NetGalley and HarperAudio Adult for the ALC audiobook. All opinions are my own.

Anyone else obsessed with the secret lives of Mormon wives and then end up down a social media hole looking at all these Tradewife Instagram's etc?

Madison is the Mormon mum of the moment on social media but its not as perfect as it all appears! We get that behind the curtain look from multiple POV but mainly Madison and Cally who is the new tutor hired for her 4 young children.

This book was fast paced and had brilliant twists and finding out what Madison has had to sacrifice both in the past and at present was really good.
