This is the second book in the new adult romantasy series, The Godkissed Bride. Book two picks up shortly after the end of the prior book as the FMC deals with the fallout of her huntsmen’s betrayal, and the possibilities of fate with her betrothed. Tropes include arranged marriage, forbidden love, touch her and die, and bodyguard MMC.

The Lovely: I loved the plot and the characters of this book. So much happens in the story and the changes in the FMC’s relationships with her betrothed and her (maybe) lover happen admits the backdrop of external threats. These two pieces played off each other in such a way it kept me engrossed all the way through.

The Mundane: As with the first book, I would have liked to learn more about the magic system in terms of how it works who can be godkissed (how it passes down) and what the range of gifts are or can be. We know a fair amount about the gifts of the main characters, but not much past them.

Rating: 4/5 Stars 2.5/5 Flames

Recommendation: Thank you Evie for providing this book for my review. All opinions are my own. The twists and turns in this book culminated with a major cliff of an ending - just WOW. I’m now so anxious for book three to see how the cliff resolves. If you like new adult romantasy with a balanced plot and character relationships, I think you would like this book.

I was so excited to get an ARC copy of this book after reading White Horse Black Nights!
First, Evie Marceau, what did we do to you? We show you love, read your books and you tear out our hearts! The continuing story of Wolf and Sabine is as magical and amazing as it is heartbreaking.
All that being said, do not miss this series! It is beautifully written and I am absolutely in love with all of these characters, from Wolf and Sabine to Myst and Torr!

Evie Marceau is the Queen of plot twists either during or right after spicy scenes that leave you hooked and desperate for more in multiple ways.

After White Horse, Black Nights I was excited for the second book in the series but was also slightly worried it would not live up to my expectations after the first. Instead it moved the bar for what I consider excellent writing in the romance genre.

Sabine remained her strong, kind, and willful self that I fell in love with in the first book. She protects and loves deeply both her human friends and animal companions, and she is fierce in a way few heroines are while keeping her soft determination at the front of everything she does.

Rian is a wild card at the start of the novel and somehow even more of one by the end. I cannot wait to see if we see more of his insane but loyal self.

And Wolf, strong, determined, self-hating Wolf. He only grows dearer to my heart in the second Novel. He is willing to make himself a sinner at her bed worshiping his goddess, he is willing to go eternity just keeping her safe for the merest of look from her. Every time we bounce back to his POV I am reminded that no real man can live up to the bar Basten has set, but damn I hope they try.

Overall this novel went more into the political side of this world then the first, while still holding on to it's fairy tale core. I would recommend this for you if you like:

- Fantasy Romance

- Unicorns

- Spicy Fantasy

- Men who would beg

- Wild FMC's

- Plot Twists that get you every-time

- and romance that has you second guessing what you look for in a man

I received an advance review copy of this book and I am leaving this review voluntarily and all thoughts and opinions are wholly my own and unbiased.
