this was surprisingly entertaining, fun and funny, w/ a well-crafted plot full of twists and turns, revelations, mystery and intrigue; i honestly couldnt stop turning the pgs.
though it was difficult to imagine the setting and the italian names were all jumbled in my head, and julie herself could be frustratingly dumb at times, i rly liked the story. the contrast between the tragic tale of 1340 romeo and juliet and the present-day shenanigans was nice, and while they were quite different, both made an impact; i found the former's ending--although predictably inevitable--esp unfortunate.
i only wish the last chapter was longer, w/ more actual scenes rather than brief recollections, and less rushed. this was just pure fun and would become a comfort read in the future for sure.
