This was a fun read, but I wish it would have branched a bit more from the original. That, or reference Austen less. It was a little unbelievable to have Darsee talk about Darcy or Alys quote Pride & Prejudice without anyone in the story catching the similarities.

Depicts the musilm religion as something ridiculous and very old-fashioned. The character that tries to focus on her beliefs and be loyal to them is seen as a weirdo and a failure. It is also highly fat-phobic. It made me feel bad about myself just how the people speak of the "fat sister". It is not as a fact or a look. They speak of her with true hatred for being fat. Maybe things get better later in the book but I couldn't keep reading it.
