I have given the same review to the last several Transmetropolitan books that I read, namely that their idea of crazy political scandal has been surpassed by the current White House occupant and that Ellis’ depiction of the journalistic backbone and popular outrage are wildly optimistic. Probably he would hate being called “optimistic”, but there it is.

The artwork is super fun, as always, and I enjoyed the appendix compilation of Spider’s columns illustrated by guests.

And that's the end for Spider Jerusalem. I'll miss the series. Amazing ending.

A fitting end. I was not quite as enamored as in the past few volumes, but it's still Spider Jerusalem takes all.

Read the series!

Damnit! How did I just read 10 after having to sort out what was 8, 10 and 0? ::sigh::

Re-read 12 May 2014.

The end of the series! I enjoyed the wrap-up of the main story arc, and the two special issues containing random Spider articles were great.

And just as Return of the King won all the Oscars for all the Lord of the Rings movies, this gets all the stars for the whole series. Maybe I'll go back and just give all the prime-numbered books 5 stars and the rest 4s, and that'll average out about right? In any case, hurray this series. Just... hurray.
