The duke is very kind, but admittedly very stupid. He doesn't trust his instincts, and trusts the stepfather even when he shouldn't. Love the slow burn. Would have liked it more without the plot twist at the end honestly, felt cliche. Good easy romance.

A brilliant and funny historical romance. I got a very strong Ever after vibe from this.
I like the characters and the story is easy to follow. Also, I love Cinderella stories so this was an easy and enjoyable read for me.
I like the plot and I definitely did not see the plot twist coming. I certainly wasn’t expecting anything like that even though I suspected there were some secrets at to be resolved.
The narrator was good and I think they really brought the story to live
All in all, a great Cinderella story and an enjoyable audiobook

I love retellings and thought this was a great way to put a fresh and spicy twist on this beloved classic. It kind of gave me Ever After vibes, and it was a light read that I was able to finish in a day. A must-read for lovers of rags-to-riches, historical fiction, HEAs, and fairytale retellings!
