This was okay but, it just didn't hit me hard in the feels like Were Are Okay did. I still think about that one a lot. The best way to describe this is trauma focused head space of girl aging out of the foster care system and going to a haunted house to face her past ghosts.

Utterly devastating. I wasn’t expecting the heaviness or the ghosts so I didn’t properly prepare myself for this story. It’s really dark and I suppose the end was a relief but I’m still feeling shook from the emotion. I’m not sure how to rate it; perhaps I’ll come back and Polish this review when I have more time to process.

Beautifully written, but I don’t think I liked it, in the end. A lot runs beneath the surface.

This is my first Nina LaCour - and won't be my last. It is sad, haunting, mesmerising, and hopeful.

soft and very evocative writing. not a whole ton of plot but the twists that were there caught me way off guard. i was expecting more of a romance for some reason but the story worked fine without. just a cute dreamy little farmers market summer camp story.
