a beautifully crafted story. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this one. an instant favorite.
magic, friendship, love and lost things. a mystery that unravels as you read. delightfully bisexual main characters. and just the right amount of spooky unsettling vibes. gave me goosebumps.

Beautiful. Inspiring. Empowering. This books was these three words and so much more. It brought to light philosophies that we often ignore, women's body image issues and the power of bonding and friendships. And ofcourse, there was magic, spells and references to greek mythology that I especially enjoyed!
More like a 3.5 or 3.75 maybe...?
Very odd book. The writing was lyrical without being too flowery and really enjoyable. As far as the writing style and whimsical characters, it reminded me of Wink Poppy Midnight by April Genevieve Tucholke.
My main gripe was the plot itself. It sounded interesting, but it wasn't as interesting as the back of the book made it out to be. It actually started off a bit silly and pointless. Like, okay....these kids cast a spell that allows them to find lost possessions and makes other people lose there's. Hairclips, jackets, buttons...who cares? It DID turn out to be more than that by the end, and I loved the way everything was wrapped up and it was quite clever. It just took awhile for the book to "have a point" in my opinion.

I just never connected with the book. The different points of view melded into one since none of the voices was very unique, I've read 1/3 of the book and still couldn't place who was who easily. The story is intirguing and the spellbook too, but once again, the POV changes kept me from really wanting to find out what was going on and how they'd find the lost things.

This book defenitely lived up to my expectations! I finished it in one go!
Less creepy than the first book but with enough mystery and magic to keep me hooked.

I get why people like fowley-doyles stuff but I think it just isn't my cup of tea.
