My (edited) review from goodreads:

TL:DR: A good, gender inclusive book for older teens/adults about the basics of menstruation, common taboos, and period activism. It’s more of an overview, doesn’t go into too much detail about any one topic.

My favorite thing about this, and the reason I bought it in the first  place, is the gender inclusive aspect of it. I was very happy to see not only gender inclusive language used throughout the book but also a short discussion on it and it’s importance. That’s very hard to find when it comes to anything about menstruation. It’s all very women-centric. But not this book! Yay!

I’m a little confused about the target age demographic for this book. Normally a guide to periods is something I’d see targeted towards tweens or teens, but this is definitely not appropriate for kids (it’s not trying to be). It has a whole chapter on period sex, and it’s written in a way that assumes you’re already educated on sex safety and consent. And gives sex tips. So imo more appropriate for older teens and up. It seems to be for people who may not have been properly educated on periods, who want to feel less alone in their experiences, who want to learn about period activism, or people who don’t menstruate who just want to learn about periods in general.

Personally I would’ve liked if she went into more detail on some of the topics, but I get that this is more of an overview and you can only fit so much into it. I don’t think there needed to be an entire chapter just for period sex though… some of the other topics could’ve been expanded on more if she had a shorter section for that. But that’s just personal preference.
