Magic Spark is the first book in the anthology series Enchanted. This book had three stories that all had a magical and romance element. The stories were "When Demigods Court Death" by Wendy Sparrow, "These Roots Run Deep" by Em Shotwell, and "Destiny's Dark Light" by Sara Dobie Bauer.
I had never read anything by any of the authors but enjoyed each and every story. Each story was well written and the characters were interesting. I enjoyed the differences of each story while following the magical theme. I often don't like anthologies because short stories usually leave me wanting more. These left me wanting more but I am glad that I read these. I enjoyed the writing and will be looking for more from these authors in the future. The stories were fun and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Magic Spark (Enchanted Book 1)

5 Star!!!!!

This was a great collection of supernatural love stories! I was glued to the pages to see what would happen next. Demigods and witches who could ask for more?

From the first story When Demigods Court Death about the ramance between the demigod of love and the demigod of death. The chemistry between Chandra and Aster is just what you'd expect of demigods! This was a new supernatural type for me so I was well impressed. The author did a great job of creating the story in my head and I look forward to reading more of this author.

The next two stories were one of my very favorite supernatural base, witches! I really loved both and just can't bring myself to pick one over the other. The Roots Run deep was so well written and I had to keep reading cause I needed to see how it all ended. Definitely will read more from this author.

Destiny's Dark Light (Part 1) this story just tugged at me. When you wanna do what's right even if it hurts. This story I could really relate to in ways and I really like some emotional romance. I really cannot wait to see how the story will progress. This author again is on my list of want to read more!!!

Magic Spark (Enchanted Anthology)
By Wendy Sparrow, Sara Dobie Bauer, Em Shotwell and Cori Vidae (Editor)
5 stars

This anthology was brilliant – absolutely fantastic! I loved all three stories that were in it! They really were so well written and just so magical! I would give each of the stories 5 stars which I don’t think I have ever done in an anthology before!

When Demigods Court Death – Wendy Sparrow
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first started this story but it didn’t take me long to love it. Who wouldn’t want to find a demi-god living next door to them! And one who, by the way, sounds incredibly sexy!! I loved the quick forming friendship between Chandra and Aster. There was just something about both characters that I liked from the very beginning. I actually would have loved this story to have been longer! I wasn’t ready to give up Aster!!

These Roots Run Deep – Em Shotwell
This story made me laugh so much! I would love a magical house! Especially if it didn’t let in the people I didn’t like!! This is probably the shortest story in the anthology but it didn’t disappoint. I had no idea what was going to happen until I got to the end of it. I liked all of the characters, Cheyanne especially! I definitely wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side and her and her sisters!!

Destiny’s Dark Light (Part 1) – Sara Dobie Bauer
I think this was the emotional story out of the anthology! I loved Cyan! She was genuinely a lovely person, even if she is a witch! She wants to do the right thing even if it hurts her in the process. I was so excited when I got to the end to find out this was only part 1 – I cannot wait to see what happens next. Will cyan find the answers she’s looking for?

Magic Spark (Enchanted Book 1) by three different author and is the first of three books in this series. This book is full of paranormal and romance. Each author has their own writing style but there are a c couple of things I found they have in common. Their stories are easy flowing and engaging. Their characters just pull you into their story. They are connectable and lovable. Some will make you laugh while others will make you feel compassion. Find out what happens when a woman gets a new neighbor and her spirits are uplifted. They are opposites but will they find a way to get passed their differences? Then you will need to find out what happens when a woman finds her finance cheating on her and a spell is cast to make him stay. Will the spell do its job or will she be sorry for what she wished for? Finally, you have a young witch who has yet come into her powers but what will happen when she finds her soul mate? Will things turn out the way she thinks or when things are not as they appear to be what will happen to her? I highly recommend this book, I know you will want to see what happens to these three women!

Magic Spark is the first book in the Enchanted trilogy by three incredible authors- Wendy Sparrow, Em Shotwell, and Sara Dobie Bauer. I am quite familiar with Ms. Sparrow and Ms. Dobie Bauer’s work and love everything of theirs that I have read. Ms. Shotwell is a ‘new-to-me’ author, but after reading her contribution to this book, I will definitely be reading more of her work. I was excited to find that she has several books published for me to dive into.
These three authors have all got a different style, which gives each of their stories its own tone, mood, feel and individuality. All the stories are beautifully written and each one is completely captivating, in its own right. The stories are all different, but each one focuses on the same theme and inspiration; which is ‘magic and romance’. So, if you really enjoy fantasy, suspense, magic, romance, and a great story- then this is definitely the book for you!

When Demigods Court Death By: Wendy Sparrow.

This story is wonderfully detailed, beautifully written, with an interesting and absorbing plot. It had a lot of funny quips and banter- which made it a very light-hearted and fun read; even with the Demigoddess of death as on of the main character.
Chandra is a website designer who works from home, mostly. She’s a little subdued, insecure and self-conscious – but very sweet. She has no idea of what she really is or what she’s capable of. Her naivety and kindness made her an easy target and has led to her being used and taken advantage of. This has left her with a distrust of people, especially men. Her life is dull, grey, boring, and full of maladies. Until he moves in next door.
Aster is not only a very successful doctor with a thriving practice, he’s also a demigod- the demigod of fertility to be exact. He has been searching for his ‘match’ for quite some time and thinks he may have found her in his quiet, but beautiful neighbour. He knows what she really is, and this could be such a beneficial relationship for them both- but first he needs to convince her, and then get her to trust him. But, there is more to this situation as the story unravels and a lot riding on him making it work. No one said a demigod courting death would be easy.
A really enjoyable read!

These Roots Run Deep By: Em Shotwell.

I wasn’t sure what to make of this story to begin with, but as the plot unfolded I found myself being drawn into the story, trying to figure out where the author was taking us and what was going to happen. I was so immersed in the story- the author had me guessing the whole way. There were definitely some surprising developments in this clever tale. The author made this a fun read, with a bit of a theatrical ‘production’ feel to the story- which gave it a lot of added interest.
Cheyanne is a perky, self-centred and somewhat neurotic television weather girl. She has just discovered that her fiancé had been cheating on her- which sets her on a quest full of obsession, spells, magic, and quite a bit of mayhem. What ensues is a surprisingly good story that kept me engrossed the entire way through.
Ms. Shotwell filled her story with beautifully detailed and descriptive scenes, wonderfully quirky and complex characters- interesting and unpredictable situations-as well as a whole lot of fun.
I look forward to reading more Of Ms. Shotwell’s work!

Destiny’s Dark Light By: Sara Dobie Bauer.

Wow! I really loved this story! I was charmed by it the whole way through. This is a fantastic, spellbinding fantasy- full of action, suspense, drama, danger, magic, spells, chemistry, and tension. I loved everything about this vividly descriptive story. The scene setting was masterful, the characters were fully developed and endearing, and the story was breathtaking! I devoured every word. It does end in a cliff-hanger (noooooo) and the story looks set to continue in the next instalment of the Enchanted Trilogy. I can’t wait to get my hand on Book two when it releases next month (Feb 2018).
Cyan Burroughs has a destiny that has been prophesied since before she was born. She comes from a long line on powerful witches, but is yet to come into her own power. The prophecy tells of a war, good versus evil, and the important part that Cyan will play in these events. She spends her time focused on learning the craft, while awaiting her destiny. An unexpected and dangerous development turns her world upside down, bringing her face to face with her destiny. Only he doesn’t know it yet. In fact, he already has a girlfriend. So, what does fate have in store for them? What of the impending war? With danger close by, things are about to get very interesting!
Such a fantastic story, and I am excited to continue it and discover what happens? This is set to be a riveting series!
………………………………………….

So, as you can see by the small snippets I have given of the brilliant stories contained in this book- it is well worth the read. I am sure you are going to love it just as much as I did. I really can’t wait for book two now!

Thank you to Ms. Sparrow, Ms. Shotwell and Ms. Dobie Bauer!!!

Magic Spark (Enchanted Book 1) by Sara Dobie Bauer, Em Shotwell, and Wendy Sparrow

When Demigods Court Death by Wendy Sparrow
I love this author, this isn't my first read by her, and for sure will not be my last..This story of Chandra and Aster was amazing, too short because I could have read many many pages of their story and been happy. This contained demigods, something I've never read about before and it was written like this is an everyday thing, like it really could happen and does exist. Aster trying to explain to Chandra exactly who she was and why they needed each other was awesome. The dialogue between the two had me laughing out loud so many times. I think that her killing all his plants while he was gone was the funniest part...Loved it and I hope there's more to come, maybe a story involving his cousin who is trying to find his match before it's too late?

These Roots Run Deep by Em Shotwell

This was my first read by this author and it was a fun kind of story, a bit off the wall but fun just the same. Cheyanne was doing well in life, she had a great job as a weather girl and even had her pictures on billboards. She was engaged and everything was just perfect...That was until she found the lipstick that was absolutely not her shade on Bretts shirt. This would not do and with the help of her 2 sisters she would cast a spell that would make him stay with her forever. I loved grannys house which seemed to have a mind of its own and I laughed out loud when I realized what was happening...It is true you should always be careful what you wish for.

Destiny’s Dark Light by Sara Dobie Bauer

Ok so I actually threw my kindle down when this story ended, this author is evil, I can not believe it ended there...Now I have to wait till next month to see what Cyan saw when she entered Sybils studio..Argh!! This was a fun quick read and although I'll need to read it again to get everything straight about what is happening, I loved the growing friendship between Cyan and Liam and I can not wait till the next part of this book to see what is going to happen. This was my first read by this author and I loved it!!

I loved these stories, they were quick and fun to read, and I've gained 2 new authors to follow, the 3rd is already a favorite. They were all 5 star reads! I don't normally like anthologies but this one was awesome!!!

Magic Sparks Anthology is a collection of paranormal/magic romance stories written by three authors: Wendy Sparrow, Em Shotwell, and Sara Dobie Bauer. Each story is different from the others and each author has their own unique way of weaving their tales.
The first story has a fertility demigod and the demigod of death being only she doesn’t know who or what she is. This one kept me engaged and laughing page after page and can’t wait to read more.

Our second story centres around three witches who are sisters who know they shouldn’t but end up helping cast a spell for the wrong reasons. This was a little different from the others but an interesting read. Be careful what you wish for!

The third story to our anthology a witch with no powers who is waiting for the prophecy to be fulfilled, if what she knows is true. There characters are fun and will make you laugh. There are also moments when you want to hug them. Just when you have hopes. BAM!! it ends. Noooooooooooooooo, just no. Now I am anxiously waiting for the next book in this series.

Each book is a quick read full of magic and who doesn’t like magic. Worth the read
