I learnt a lot about the terrorist group and how it affected everyone in the Basque Country. Very detailed, written from many points of view. Interesting.

Às vezes depois de ler um livro pergunto-me porque é que foi escrito, qual foi a intenção do escritor, que necessidade tinha o mundo de ouvir aquela história? Muitos livros são derrubados por esta simples pergunta, porque a resposta só faz sentido para quem os escreveu. Outros livros são absolutamente necessários e este é um deles. O tema do extremismo, neste caso por razões políticas, a vida numa terra pequena onde não há como fugir à tirania do grupo, as pressões que sofrem os jovens para enveredar pela violência, a coragem de fugir desse caminho, os limites ultrapassados, o sofrimento das famílias, como se sobrevive depois disto tudo?...
A única crítica menos positiva é a extensão do livro (e o peso!) que não facilita o seu transporte para todo o lado, como dá vontade. Mas está escrito de forma admirável e mantém-nos sempre interessados ao longo das mais de 500 páginas.
