The gods and godlings were all nicer in this ones, so yay. I mean some bad evil tendencies but eh:/ 

I loved Sieh’s character development. 

Sieh and Deka were cute together. 
Shahar was rude for an understandable reason, but I’m glad her & her hubby worked out. I also like her new plan of who rules Sky, etc.

I would love to visit Echo. 

Ok but the ending and Sieh was possibly on his path to be a god... omg!!??

The little extra scene where Shiny & Oree meet up again. I could cry. They’re so cute. 

Why 4 not 5 stars? Wasn’t my favorite plot of the series.

I have finally reached the end of the journey. When starting the trilogy I did not anticipate its meandering plot, spotty worldbuilding, deux ex machinas, or plot twists that have no weight. For a series that involves a realm called the Hundred Thousand Kingdoms, I was surprised to find that only a handful of these kingdoms came up. Now, the series isn’t terrible by any means; there are a good number of fun ideas. These are just vastly outnumbered by strange, meandering, underwhelming choices in plot. I’m sure this series resonates perfectly with some people, but I am not one of them.

This last entry did not engage me as much as the first two. Sieh as the main character did not do it for me. I understood the parallels with the three from the first two books, and the loneliness he was feeling but the story just wound around with Sieh being moody and then massive God battle and the end. 
I would have been more interested in seeing how the conflict with the three would resolve, but alas they have been put on the sidelines. 
I'm glad I have the conclusion to this story, though I wished it would be more....somehow.

I can at this point no longer give an unbiased review of any book in the Inheritance trilogy, because it has stolen my heart. This has been such a wonderful and heartbreaking journey, and when I finished The Kingdom of Gods at midnight last night I cried for a long while afterwards. Jemisin has created a fantasy world so vivid and well realised I felt like I could step through the pages into the world of the Kingdoms and their many gods, godlings and demons. The final book in the trilogy follows my favourite character from the first book, Sieh (who only makes a brief appearance in the second book) and I knew at once I was in for an emotional ride as he navigates the world in mortal form, struck down by a bargain made with a pair of unlikely twins.

Experiencing the narrative from Sieh's perspective was exciting, as previously he has only been observed by characters who perceive him as a child - being the God of childhood, he has an image to maintain. But this is a God of childhood who is untold millenia old, and his very nature is threatened as secrets from this long past begin to emerge. What follows is both tragic and gratifying as Sieh comes to grasp the gravity of what it means to grow up.

I would highly recommend this trilogy to anyone who loves fantasy, especially fantasy that revolves around pantheons and magic. Sieh is but one of a cast of many rich and nuanced characters, and his story kept me gripped through to the end.

I want to give this 4 stars but can’t because there was way too much incest that weirded me out sm. Like it’s all over and I get that it’s mainly amongst divine beings so they work differently but... NOT THE GOD OF CHILDHOOD SLEEPING WITH HIS PARENTS???? WHY??
This entire series I just want to bonk the author and characters and send them to horny jail. Like I’m concerned with these relationships in each book... 

And

WHAT WAS THAT SCENE WHERE SIAH F*CKS DAKA IN FRONT OF HIS SISTER?  *screams*

Anyway, you will be entertained that’s for sure.

A five star series, my favorite work from N.K. Jemisin so far (that's saying alot), and potentially a favorite series of all time. I didn't realize that these books, while connected by a common core of characters and a general plot, are more companion novels than sequential books in an interconnected series. Usually with series like that, I inevitably fall more in love with one book/story more than the others. Not so here. I am trash for this entire series, and I'm SO glad my mom got me the giant bind-up so I can hop straight into the novella!
