Ouyang is the star of this book. He is my favorite character and I love him and his internal thoughts and was rooting for him the whole time. Team Ouyang 😂

Zhu was a great character. She’s smart and can hold her own. I also love her and Ma together. Their final scene in this book made me want to cry! I also love Xu Da. He’s just a very fun character who is loyal to the end. 

I must say, when I read the content warning for sexual content, I wasn’t expecting what we got on page. If you know, you know. Good for them!

I’m looking forward to the conclusion of this series! I can’t wait to see who comes out on top.

I loved this book a lot more than I expected considering I only read like half the blurb

Kept me hooked the entirety of the book and that's not common for me.

I really enjoyed the narrative style, most of the characters and pacing of this book. The story follows 2 characters though, and the second is considerably less compelling than the first. Although this offered perspectives that allow the reader to view the story in a more holistic way.
