I loved this book because it was historical fiction and a retelling of beauty and the beast which I loved the disney version also i Gould it quick placed and everyone I wanted to put it down to do something else I would be engulfed in the storyline again

Oh but I do love fairytales.

This is one of my favorite retellings of "Beauty and the Beast." It follows the outline of the traditional fairytale, but from Beauty's point of view. I love her interactions with the Beast. Excellent book, highly recommended!

One of my favorite retelling stories. The retelling genre is a lot more abundant than you'd think, and this is one of my favorites. =)

A classic that I first read as a young teenager that still holds up to this day!

Really enjoyed this, but I thought the ending was quite abrupt.

The ending was so rushed which sucks since the rest of the book is very enjoyable.

Robin McKinley's version of the Beauty & the Beast tale is richly detailed, with a strong, smart heroine and interesting supporting characters. The world of Beast's castle is mysterious and strangely beautiful. This book is a delight to read, and a great introduction to Robin McKinley's work.

This was very sweet. I feel like it was missing something though.
