This was such a stunning read honestly I loved it so much. These characters had my whole heart and I was definitely trying not to cry on the bus by the end.

This was my second attempt at reading this book. I'm so glad I gave it another go because it was worth the wait to know the ending. This story made me tear up, cheer, and laugh. I loved it all even when it was slow and hard to wait, I pushed through to know if the characters ended up okay. There's no doubt Davis put her characters through a lot. It was hard to read but a great read at that.

This was a recommendation from a coworker and WOW I'm very glad I read it. (Listened to it)
The story is amazing, and the characters painted so wonderfully. The timelines both moved seamlessly-- I've read books with multiple timelines that try to get little cliffhangers and make you want to stay in one timeline more than the other, but this one did a good job of weaving two stories into one. I loved the narrator as well.
I honestly think I would have loved it just as much if the fiancés had not both come back at the end, as the mother/daughter/granddaughter relationships were so beautiful. But it was heartwarming to have the extra happy ending, and didn't take away from the story at all.

It was slow at first, but once it picked up, it was an amazing story.
