Meh

More focus on character building, especially with LGBTQ issues, could have given the book some needed depth, as they were all pretty flat.

This was a badly written “slasher” novella, it was supposed to be a queer romance with horror novella but none of these things were in it, the plot was boring and the killer motives were confusing (it’s either that or I’m just dumb)

The one star is for the last two chapters.

This was a fine read. There was nothing particularly spectacular about the book. I felt that it was just a string of murders with no real story in sight. It just felt as though we arrived at camp, and then murders started happening, and then the book ended. I wish we got more story as to why the killer did what they did, rather than just they had an “outburst”. I’m always more interested in the “why” factor of said outburst. Definitely would recommend to thriller lovers!

Why hello Kindle Unlimited book that is set at a horrific summer camp.

Camp Carnage was a pretty interesting read. I didn't really know what to expect because I am a horrible person who didn't really read the synopsis. I mean I glanced at it but didn't really sit down and pay attention to what it actually said. Oops?

Even though I didn't do any of that, I enjoyed the book. It has been a while since I've read a slasher book so I was really pumped for everything that was happening. I love when everyone is up for grabs and I have no idea who is behind it. Mostly because I'm a horrible detective and such...

I'm not sure if this was supposed to be as funny as it was.. but I'm not mad about it either. I also feel like things weren't lining up so perfectly in this book for me. It just felt like I was left with more questions than answers towards the end for me.

In the end, I look forward to my next slasher book.

Not worth the investment.

While the story itself is competently written, the authors introduce you to a handful of characters that you come to care
and then proceeds to kill them all off. I didn't find the story to be scary in the horror sense, nor was I on the edge of my seat with suspense about who the mystery killer could be. Instead I found myself not really caring about the whodunit or the why but rather sickened that the main character was brutally murdered, and for no reason except that they could.
I can't imagine ill be interested in any of the other books in the series. Sorry.

3.75✨ it was a bloody 1980s slasher. Fun and bloody. Perfect if you love the Summer Camp horror genre!

Yes. Like But I'm a cheerleader and the burning had a gayby

Really great book. Loved the writing and the characters were all memorable. Although I guessed who the big bad was, I still really was entertained by the book!

Predictable killer, but unexpected victims…
good enough…
