Vow of Thieves picks up right where Dance of Thieves left off, but it tells a different story. I found that, for about 1/3 of the book, some of the things I was looking forward to after reading Dance of Thieves were absent, or just presented differently. For example, there is still romance, but in a much different way.

When Jase and Kazi were apart, I found the story to be very slow-paced, and I occasionally got bored, but I appreciate the fact that the reader was made to feel the same way the characters felt in their respective situations.

EVERYONE STOP WHAT UR DOING A READ THIS DUOLOGY!!!
I MEAN IT!!

It's perfect example of good fantasy, perfect characters, perfect world building, perfect romance, perfect conflicts/ conflict resolutions, just PERFECT.

Kazi is the best character ever written, she went through so much and never gave up despite nearly everyone working against her. and she's so smart!!! I love her and I want to read more books with thief main characters, I love thieving.

Also, I really appreciated that the miscommunication/ misunderstanding trope wasn't a major part of the plot. No spoilers, but when the conflict was set up, I immediately expected there to be big misunderstandings between Kazi and Jase (which would've really sucked given how good they are together), but Pearson must've known I was scared of that because she completely steered clear of that trope! I love her <3

That's all, go read this now!!!!

Vow of Thieves by Mary E. Pearson
Rating: 5/5

Summary: Kazi and Jase now head over heels for each other are making their way back to Tor's Watch. They hope to bring back peace to the newly recognized kingdom. However disaster strikes and now Kazi must rely on all her skills to survive and Jase must somehow find a way to get back everything he dearly cares about. With betrayal at every corner, just who can you trust?

Rating: If you think i loved the first book of this duology, this book destroyed me. It's my favorite in the series, it definitely delivered. I am in love, just absolutely in love with this book. The characters were developed even more and didn't fall fla. The plot was amazing and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The antagonist was so well written. Just, a 5/5 for this amazing book.

The plot in this story was so amazingly written. It was fast paced and there weren't parts that dragged on for me at all. I couldn't put the book down at all, i needed to know what would happen next. It was an emotional rollercoaster and it left me absolutely destroyed in the best way.

The characters in this story were developed so well. They didn't fall flat and never once did i think they were stuck and weren't developing anymore. Pearson did such a great job with them. There were some characters which i hated in the first book that i now absolutely love in this book. Pearson wonderfully threw in those twists and i know i yelled "fuck yeah" out loud many times. I still didn't love any of the side characters more than the protagonists but it was very close.

Lastly, before i end this review we should mention the romance. The romance in this book absolutely wrecked me. I want a romance like Kazi and Jase's. The ending of this book had me sobbing and it was the best ending one could ask for.

This book deserves a 5/5 review.
