Yep, I cried. Like waterfalls straight outta the eyes. Had to hug the boyfriend like a koala for 5 minutes afterward. XD

Not a fan of CoHo at all , and i MEAN not, but this one was promising, until she COHo'd at the end. I was willing suspend disbelief of quite a bit of unbelievable things, like how anyone responsible for the death of someone and feels remorse about it would even entertain dating their BEST friend, and the same for the best friend. Or how quickly they "fell in love" under these remarkable circumstances. Or how she was ready to give up the fight for her child so easily. Was even willing to overlook the planted anti-racist and anti-homphobic lines that slap you in the face with their subtlety, but when all the build-up of the tension between all the parties rapidly dissipated overnight (literally) she got a huge CoHo eyeroll. Three stars bcs the storyline was interesting and i was rooting for the characters to be realistically multi-faceted, and they almost made it, until the end. i would have been willing to read 15-20 more pages of development to get to where this needed to go, but never got the chance. I would say maybe next time but this was a involuntary book club read and like i vowed before that choice, i hope to never read CoHo again.

Oh this was delightful! I didn’t cry but darn it I came pretty close. I loved the premise and the puzzle pieces, finding out the why’s and how could you’s. Sometimes you need a sad story that just has an encouraging ending.

"Grudges are heavy, but for the people hurting the most, I suppose forgiveness is even heavier."

It seems that this book didn't work out for me and I really want to love this book as much as I love other Colleen Hoover's books. But, I don't find anything special in this one.

[b:Reminders of Him|58341222|Reminders of Him|Colleen Hoover|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1627673942l/58341222._SX50_.jpg|69199268] is about 26 years old woman named Kenna Rowan who's just got released from a 5-year prison sentence for the involuntary manslaughter of her boyfriend, Scotty Landry. She wants to meet her daughter, Diem but Scotty's parents got the full custody and they hate Kenna. With the help from Ledger Ward, Kenna does everything she can, hope Scotty's parents forgive me one way another.

I was trying not to put a high expectation on this one, but still... the title of this book gave me another expecations that this book will leave some scars or left me hurt or some shit. Whatever. But, well...[b:Reminders of Him|58341222|Reminders of Him|Colleen Hoover|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1627673942l/58341222._SX50_.jpg|69199268] didn't do that to me. I don't feel anything except the urge to finish and be done with it. Yes, Kenna Rowan is a typical strong woman, and the grief that she felt should make me cry or something, but no.

And the last 50-ish page I know this book will have an happy ending, good but still I don't feel anything for this book. [b:Reminders of Him|58341222|Reminders of Him|Colleen Hoover|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1627673942l/58341222._SX50_.jpg|69199268] wasting 200 pages to tell some dull and all-over-the-place kind of story and the ending is too fast and too rapid.

Overall, if you want to read some emotional books from Colleen Hoover with same plot/themes (mother-daughter related, or family related), read these instead:

Good audio. Ending seemed rushed, met her daughter finally and then it was over.

this book was okay. SPOILERS ahead

I think coho is really a hit or miss and I want to say this book missed the mark. This was one of her less traumatizing books but I wish this book was more a Women's fiction than a "romance". I don't think Kenna and Ledger (ledger is such a dumb name...I could not take it seriously) were all that great together, like I am not a fan of insta-love/lust and that's where their connection grew and I just was not a fan of it. I think Kenna will always love Scotty more and yes he died so it just seems unfair to compare the two but still I feel like Kenna and Scotty will always be intertwined, whereas Kenna and Ledger could have stayed platonic soulmates. They could have use their love for Scotty/Diem to help Kenna reconcile with Diem...what I am trying to say is the love story was unnecessary.

I would have formatted this novel differently to have a greater impact on the reader. The Dual POV would have been Scotty talking about him falling in love with Kenna and talking to his best friend/parents about this amazing girl or Kenna in jail writing the letters/finding out she's pregnant and then Kenna in the present/before she came into town trying her best to do everything she can to be able to meet her daughter. I feel like in that way, the letters would have been way more impactful. Ledger's POV was again unnecessary. The best part of the novel was the ending when she finally reunites with her daughter and finally gets to speak with Scotty's parents...also the letters were nice but they just did not hit the same because we never really got to know scotty and why she loved scotty so much.

I hated the accident, it was literally dumb. You're telling me all this happened because of drunk driving....I could not feel bad...I'm sorry, like they were 21-22 years old...they are grown enough to make decisions that are not stupid...yt ppl...
and I get that she was in shock afterwards but she literally says 3 cars drove past her and she could stop one of them and ask for help....regardless of if you thought he was dead or not...still call for help

Honestly a lot of the plot points/characters in the novel were not fully developed so the outcome was just mediocre and the reader is left with questions because it honestly was just dumb.

Yeah so idk this has spoilers, but like you couldn't figure out the plot by reading the "about" this book..

CoHo again with the fucking names... It's like she's allergic for giving her main characters actual normal people names, no gotta be UNIQUE for her DEEP and THOUGHT PROVOKING BOOKs!!!

Anyway so book is about this lady Kenna who has about two braincells to rub together, she was in prison (watch out, big time criminal here!!!) because she accidentally, ACCIDENTALLY killed her boyfriend that she dated for solid 10 minutes because she was just a wittle bwittle wasted
(yeah I also drink and drive all the time like by TOTAL accident CoHo, supes relatable).

Anyway she goes to prison right but DUN DUNNNN She's omega super giga pregnant and gives birth in prison, I would also totally pop out a kid from a guy who's last name I barely knew lmao am I right girlies?

Now she's out 5 years later because she lost the ability to speak at her own trail because of no good reason really, anyway she decides "I'm gonna find that little bugger I popped out, oh did I mention I named her Diem, you know like CARPE DIEM" (FUCK OFF FOR REAL WITH THIS ONE)

Yeah so she moves to the town her ex lived in (you know the one she killed, don't worry she'll remind you every other word) to maybe get to see her kid that she has no guardianship over but woops she falls in wuw with this super hot bad boy type of guy LEDGER that owns a bar (see VERY COOL!!!) But OH NO WHATS THAT, HE'S HER EX'S BEST FRIEND, YOU KNOW THE EX SHE KILLED???? AND HE'S HER PRISON KID'S STEPDAD FOR REALS KINDA??????

I don't know how I even finished this book but yeah they bang and everyone is happy in the end I guess, whatever.
