Ike and Buddy Lee are not fathers of the year. They've been to jail, they've run in the wrong crowds, and they hated that their sons were gay. But now theirs sons have been murdered, and nothing will stop them from finding out who dun did it!

I was completely blown away by this book. I definitely cried at least four times.

This whole book was a journey of grief, acceptance, revenge, anger and love. I have never lost a child, but I felt like I was there with these dad's dealing with their loss. I also truly loved how much self reflection they went through, thinking about how they treated their sons how they never accepted them and how stupid they were not to. Ultimately, this "revenge" quest ends up being more of a way for the dads to take out their anger at themselves for never realizing that having prejudices just holds you back from realizing what is important in life.

On top of all the emotions, was the story. And holy hot damn this story was good! From how Buddy Lee and Ike get started on the investigation of their sons murder, to the dangers that get revealed, the twists, the high stakes, the people they meet! I was so invested in everything that happened and the pacing of it was was adrenalizing. I don't want to say too much because I feel this book is such a trip, and you need to go on it.

I can't recommend this book enough, just read it!
