Found this book at a free little library and grabbed based on the beautiful cover and without knowing anything about it. A heartbreaking story that made me wish for a more hopeful ending. Still, I would definitely recommend it. Beautifully written.

This is a very good book. I love the writing and the way the story was told via different perspectives and POVs. It covers difficult and challenging subject matter and it definitely tugged at my heartstrings at points but there was a lil' something missing for me which prevented the book from having maximum emotional impact.

This is easily one of the most impactful books I’ve read in the last several months. Maybe the whole year. A story of identity, repression, family, grief, and all of the complexities of being human while navigating these themes, The Death of Vivek Oji is about more than just physical death. It is also about the death of how we might view people based on our expectations, and the beautiful juxtaposition against the birth of the person as they are.
