I was so happy we finally got Colton’s story. His tension with Noah was perfectly done—biting, frustrating, and addictive. But honestly, the years of miscommunication and wrong assumptions had me fuming. All that wasted time! Still, the moment things started shifting between them? Pure payoff. That slow build-up, filled with denial and hidden longing, was so satisfying.
What really pulled me in was the bi-awakening storyline. Watching both men come to terms with their feelings, not just for each other but for themselves, made the connection feel even deeper. That personal journey added something special. It didn’t feel rushed or forced—it unfolded naturally, which made the steamy and tender moments even more believable.
At first, I had some doubts. The rivalry seemed childish, and I couldn’t understand why two grown men held onto so much resentment without talking things through. But once the truth finally came out, it all clicked into place. That late twist didn’t just surprise me, it actually changed the way I saw their whole dynamic.
There’s a bit of grump vs grump going on here, which made their bickering sharp but also hilarious. The jealousy scenes? So good. Especially when Noah started going after what he wanted with no apologies. I loved seeing that shift—how he wouldn’t let Colton push him away anymore. The chemistry turned feral, and I was there for it.
Also, I really liked the small town setting and how both families played a role. The scenes with Colton’s family, and Noah’s bond with his uncle, added warmth and grounded everything. It balanced out the angst with softer, more emotional beats. I’m definitely curious about Lawson’s story after this.
Even though it didn’t quite top book one for me, this was still a strong read. The beginning had me doubting, but the way it all came together made it worth it. I ended up way more invested than I expected.

Emmy Sanders done it again!
Emmy can do no wrong in my book and definitely has become one of my go to authors as of late!
There is absolutely nothing I can say that I disliked about this beautiful book! I had heart eyes and butterflies the entire time!
Noah just might be my new book boyfriend, the way he truly was there for Colt understanding him even when they have been “enemies” for so long. He knew how to rein in his Darling boy! Colt was such a confused sweetheart and bless his soul, everyone including his family could see what was right in front of him!
Their love in the end was all understanding and vulnerable love filled with so much passion, they are perfect for each other.
I can’t wait for the rest of this series, I already know these will be insta reads for me.
I want to be apart of that Darling family so bad! They are true definition of family!
That Epilogue had crying like a baby!

I love love loved Colt & Noah! I have been waiting for their books since Jackson & Ash’s book and it did not disappoint! I loved everything about them. Watching their relationship blooming with Colts mid life but awakening crisis because it was his ‘enemy’ .. I loved how Noah just knew how to deal with Colt and just tell him what was happening. This book was everything I didn’t know I wanted it to be.
“I like having your reins in my hand, little Colt. Tell me. If I tug, will you come to heel?”
“Against all goddamn sense and reason, you made me fall brim over boot, Noah King. And now I don’t know which way is up unless it’s with you.”
We fight for what’s important in life. Every big moment. Every small. And love, well. I think that might just be the most important battle worth waging.
