There is no Palestinian and Israeli in this story; just tale of a human being. The inner struggle of what is right and wrong and a strong devotion towards county is what causes two states kept fighting each other. The impact of war seems to affect human who lives surrounded by the environment. This is not heavily political like some books, it's just bursting with emotions and feelings by the main character, Dr. Amin. Refuse to accept that his wife involved in suicide bombing, he seeks the truth. During his own journey, he unravel mystery of his wife and the secrets that she's harboring all this time. This story is simply amazing, to say the least.

I really enjoyed this book, from beginning to end. It was gripping, surprising, sad, interesting and amusing all at the same time.

The story of an Muslim doctor who finds himself trying to find out if his wife was, indeed, a suicide bomber, while at the same time, dealing with the consequences of her actions and death.

Nice quick read, the protagonist is a bit too confident and annoying at first but calms down later. Loved the last few chapters!

Amin is comfortable as an Arab-Israeli citizen. He is a well respected surgeon and sees himself as successfully integrated as is possible whatever that really might mean. He has no interest in the political troubles that surround him. Taking care of his patients and enjoying his life with his wife are the only things of importance for him. His world is turned upside down, however, when is wife, also apparently happily integrated, is suspected of being the suicide bomber responsible for the many dead and injured in a local café. So much potential here, but I found it to be quite a dull read that made little of that potential. It fails on so many levels for me, especially regarding his understanding of his own personal relationship, but it is still worth reading.
