I’m actually not sure how I feel about it. I would read a chapter then need to take a break from it. I really like the concept of the story, and there are many great moments (the ending was pretty cool). However I had trouble keeping track of the huge number of characters, many with similar names. If I read this again I will need to take notes to keep track of them all.

To be honest, this just stressed me out and confused me. I really enjoy the plot, I think it's undoubtedly very cool and unique. What throws me off is the number of characters (who all have the same name and are constantly marrying each other and then dying and then marrying someone else in the family). It got increasingly difficult for me to follow and I kept having to look back at the family tree drawn at the beginning of the book. Eventually I was over it

A very strange and confusing read that completely reshaped my idea of what a novel could be. I found that this book was most enjoyable on the reread…which I began immediately after finishing the book for the first time.
