I had an okay time, I feel kinda let down I was excited to get into the world and experience all the creatures and tings but I felt like the book was super slow and didn’t show what I really wanted it to.

This book drew me in right away and it was fun learning more about the characters and fantasy world, but I did not like that ending.

This book fell short for me.
There was nothing interesting enough happening, and I found myself yawning.
I NEVER YAWN WHILE READING A BOOK.

The only word to describe Cornelia Funke's books is magical. Not only did she create a fantastic world, she also managed to put the feeling into words that every reader has from time to time: the longing to be in your favorite story. I love how she plays with this theme, makes you second guess but ultimately still has you aching for a different world.
The story itself is captivating. Inkspell is the kind of book that makes you smile, cry and hold your breath. There are moments were you are torn between wanting to know what happens next and being afraid of finding out what the pages will hold in store.
It is amazing that we finally get to explore the Inkworld itself instead of just reading about stories being told. I'm sure everybody who read Inkheart had been dying to find out what it's like.
Cornelia Funke has a way of surprising you with plot-twists that will break your heart. However, in the same moment she also awakens your hopes and you can't help but continue reading. The worst of it all: the cliffhanger at the end. Fortunately, I already had the third part waiting for me, otherwise I would have been really mad ;-)

Inkspell is a wonderful and magical book that will suck you right in. It exceeded all my expectations and I promise you'll love it too!

I am in love with the "Inkheart" books. I want to have children solely for the purpose of reading Funke's books to them. There were never any children's books that made the act of reading the focus of the books. Words are powerful, as is the art of writing. And Funke is a beautiful writer - she made me cry, which is not something I normally do with children's books. If you love reading and fantasy books, I urge you to pick up "Inkheart" and venture for the first time into the Inkworld. But, be forewarned: you may not want to leave.

Loved it!
