This was my third attempt to read this and the first time I made it past the first few chapters. If you're struggling, I would highly suggest the audiobook "performed" by Brendan Frasier.

Inkspell (Inkworld, #2)
This trilogy is very dear to me. I fell in love with the reviews and went on a hunt for the three physical copies. It took me three years to complete the search, and Inkspell was the last one I found in a small Mexican bookstore.
What fascinates me about this book, in particular, is that each of its many chapters could easily stand alone as a beautiful short story with a little plot twist, while also weaving together into a brilliant larger narrative. Cornelia Funke is truly remarkable. She leaves no loose ends; nothing feels unnecessary. Her writing is exquisite—clean, engaging, and deeply satisfying.
The descriptions of the characters and the Ink World are perfect and immersive. Inkspell, specifically, is set within the Ink World, giving it the feel of a high fantasy story. I enjoyed this book immensely and grew as fond of it as I did with The Neverending Story—and for me, that says a lot.

This series is so engrossing! I can't wait to read the last book!

Better than the first, the world is certainly interesting. Unfortunately, Dustfinger is still annoying. Him dying was a highlight for me!
