"I will go through this to reach you"

I really don't understand why some people didn't like this ending. It concluded things beautifully and nothing was left unanswered except for the whereabouts of the Markham kid. Which I am totally okay. It wouldn't really affect the plot... Anywho, yes I loved this ending and I'm too emotionally compromised to write a good review about this book.

One thing I didn't like of the ending:

1. We didn't see if Anna won or not, I would've loved seeing her as our leader and to see the changes she would do to make our society (no capitalization) better and stronger.

2. Xander and Lei? Seemed a little forced. I knew since the beginning that she has Leany, I just had a hunch. And when we were reaching the end and nothing was happening I thought I was wrong and then Cassia asked her. I am so proud to have been able to foreshadow something as big as this. So so proud, good job Bella! But yeah, I think I would've preferred if Xander was just with her, but not actually in love with her. Seriously, one does not get over their first love as quick as he did and move on to the next one. You aint Drake, honey.

Ky and Cassia were perfect ever since Crossed. So no complaints there. I just loved the conclusion of this series okay? It was perfect and I wanted an epilogue, which just shows how much I loved the ending and how god damn much I love this series.

"There is satisfaction in knowing that something good and right and true was part of you. That you had the blessing, gift, good fortune, perfect luck, to know someone like this, to pass through fire and water and stone and sky together and emerge, all of you, strong enough to hold on, strong enough to let go."

All in all, I was pretty satisfied with Reached as a conclusion to the series. While the first book is told only from Cassia's perspective, the second adds in Ky's perspective, and the third has Cassia's, Ky's and Xander's perspectives. I usually don't like alternating perspectives because they don't allow you to get to know any of the characters really well -- but, since we had the whole series to get to know these characters, I felt like it really worked.

A common problem, I think, with series-ending books is that the author tries to wrap everything up, give everyone a happy ending, and tie a nice bow around it all. On the one hand, I want some of that. I don't want to see characters I have grown to love unhappy or, worse, dead.

But on the other hand, I sometimes hate it. It's not realistic and feels false. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Reached strikes a really great balance of happy endings and leaving some things undecided. The end feels realistic, but there are still some loose ends, some less-than-perfect futures that are still possible. And I like that.

I liked the series a lot and definitely recommend it to readers who like a bit of romance and adventure. :)

2.5 stars. I loved the first book. The second book was a little boring, but I thought that it was building up for the action in book 3. I found this book to be a very dull. Not much action even when the Rising took over. A lot of details were left out. How did Ky and Indie get so good at flying? And Xander being a medic? The world building was not great. I didn't feel like I was there. I actually skimmed over parts of Cassia's chapters because I found them to be boring. I really had high hopes for this trilogy since I loved the first book, but I was disappointed.

I loved the first book in this series, but the last two weren't quite as good. I didn't like the way that the book switched narrators. I think it made an already complicated storyline even more confusing.

But with that being said, I would still recommend these books.

This final installation in the series was not as good as the first two. It seemed to plod along with the plot moving slowly. I didn't find the characters as well developed which is unusual in a third of three. I just found it anti-climactic as an end to the series.

Audio - last of YA trilogy -

I was all set on giving this book just 1 plain old star, but the last 15% of the book bumped it up a whole star. Even if it did drag a little during those sections.
