The third volume in the "Watch" series. Once again it is focused mostly on Anton Gorodetsky and events that happen around him.
Split into three arcs of an overall story, they fit together well and lead up consistently to the conclusion.
As usual, there's a bit of moralising and philosophical discussions over dark and light/good and bad as it's defined in these books. Also has the normal plots within plots which sometimes seem a bit too convenient but make sense as the real danger is discovered.
Most of the characters are ones that have already been introduced in the other books, although there are a few new ones making an appearance.

Here's the deal: the first 2 parts i was wondering: what the fuck, the book was just plain boring. At the 3d part the story picked up, and at the end you're still wondering what's at those upper levels of twilight, which will be probably reviewed in the next book.
However, compared with the part 2 of the series, this one is a let-down

This may well be my favorite book in the series.
No, you can't read it without reading the previous two, but I do think it's a lot of fun.

A little bit too much soul-searching and pontificating for my liking in this final volume of the trilogy, but in between that there was a cracking story.
