This was my first book by this author duo, and it absolutely hooked me. I already enjoyed Cora Rose’s solo work, but now I’m even more curious about Lark Taylor’s writing. The Covenant had everything I love: childhood friends to enemies to lovers, fake marriage, forced proximity... It was a perfect mix of tension, chemistry, and emotional depth.

But this story wasn’t all light and fun—there’s a lot of pain underneath. The betrayal from the past, the misunderstandings, the truth slowly coming out… it all added layers to the romance. Add in the heavy burden of family expectations and a secret society pulling the strings, and you’ve got a story that’s both intense and addictive.

Matthias completely stole my heart. He’s been quietly loving Wyatt for so long, willing to take whatever scraps of affection he could get. That kind of devotion hurts to read, but it made me root for him so hard. Wyatt’s journey is more complicated—he believed in a version of the past that wasn't the full truth. Watching him unravel that and fight for what they once had was powerful.

The concept of The Firm added a darker, more mysterious tone that really worked for me. It wasn’t just about romance—it was about loyalty, survival, and taking back control. I can’t wait to see what’s next for the rest of this twisted and fascinating family.

This book hit all the right notes: angst, longing, slow-burn tension, and some really beautiful moments. I flew through it and didn’t want it to end. And now I’m definitely counting down the days until the next one.
