I picked this up because I've been on a slump (for big books) and it's exactly what I need: trashy, problematic, and toxic drama.
CW for cheating and trying to justify it.
It was entertaining, ngl. The chemistry between the two characters was good. But aside from the cheating aspect, what worked in the negative for me is the fact that this was so short and we spend most of the time in the characters' heads. There's very little dialogue. It's pages and pages of internal monologue and it just became tiring despite it being such a short book.
I don't know if I'll pick up the next book for these particular characters but, you know what? I might if I'll be in the mood for MOAR drama.

This is a very short novella that serves as an introduction to Katrina Jackson's new series, The Family. I can't say Beautiful & Dirty is short and sweet, but it IS short and sexy. Shae, a serial people-pleaser on vacation in Italy with her terrible boyfriend, meets older man and silver fox Salvo - who just happens to be the head of a dangerous criminal organization - after ditching said terrible boyfriend on her way to Naples to drink wine and eat pizza. It's lust at first sight for both Salvo and Shae when she walks into his cafe and boy does that lust ignite once they give in to their desires! Beatiful & Dirty doesn't end with a HEA or HFN, but it is clearly not the end of Shae and Salvo's story and sets up the new series beautifully.

This is my first book by Katrina Jackson. I'm pleased. She's been recommended by booktubers time and again. I finally gave her a chance and boy, she didn't disappoint. (From where I am, Jackson's books aren't that accessible. I really want to read Neighborly but I can't find it anywhere. Kindle promos aren't available in my region so that's that.)
I loved this book, it was quick, steamy and the chemistry of the hero and heroine? Just wow. I'm super excited to read the continuation of their story. Other than the atrocious cover, this book is so much better than other full length novels by popular authors.

I enjoyed this but if felt like a prequel to a full length story and I wish that I had known that going in, I would have waited to start this one and chosen something else by this author to try. I can't seem to find if there will be a continuation because the ending leaves the reader hanging and the next book doesn't feature this couple. I'm hoping since it hasn't been that long since this was published that there will be another book with this couple later on down the road.
I enjoyed pretty much everything about this contemporary romance. Characters that I liked, in a setting that Jones made so atmospheric that I felt drawn in to Vegas, and chemistry and steaminess that did nothing but enhance the read. I am way late to the Christina C. Jones fan club, but I'm here now and will be enjoying my time catching up on her backlist!
