I love the thought, “I am not old, only older than most. To say you are old is to give up.” It was also beautiful to hear that he had failings in his life, but could not bring the feeling of pain and regret because he was so thankful in comparison to his torture in the camps.

This is a book that must be read, simply because it is a story of a time that must not be forgotten. I felt compelled to read this and finished it in just 2 days.
The first half of the book I got through quicker, I think because it was more personal, the second half after liberation which became a bit more political and religion based were not as easy to get through for me.
This is a harrowing read, it is impossible to comprehend the evil that occurred in the Holocaust but it is so important that it is passed on. There are still lessons to be learnt.
