I really enjoyed this heartwarming story- especially the country music, reality show aspect. I think it can absolutely be a cozy, holiday read- but it’s also just a fun read anytime of the year! I loved the Nashville and Banff settings, and I really enjoyed the unique twist on the “fake dating” trope.
I felt at first some of the scenes were rushed, and I would have liked to see a bit more interaction between the two & a bit more development. But overall- a nice enjoyable read!

The beginning of this one I enjoyed. I love a fake dating trope. I just feel there was a little too much storyline here that felt unnecessary and the communication between the two main characters was frustrating. I liked the concept but overall this just fell short for me.
I didn’t love Sadie honestly. I just didn’t feel she really did love Max. I felt like this couple spent more time miscommunicating and not getting along, it almost didn’t even make sense to me why they, more specifically she, loved him.
They miscommunicated and had so many, yes let’s be together, to immediately something going wrong moments it was a whirlwind and made it feel forced to even have these two end up together.

More of a skim read. Because after the first 70 pages or so, I was so sick of goddamn "Saxie" that I just wanted it to end.

❌ Miscommunication Trope
❌ Self Absorbed MMC
❌ Uncommunicative FMC
Look, I can understand a miscommunication trope… once. Heck, even maybe twice. But these two MC’s do not know how to communicate. They may have raw chemistry but that’s about it.
This is a not-so-fun Christmas read that had me stressed the entire time!

The best part of the book was the fact that one of the main characters shared my birthday.
