I wish I could rate the parts of the book separately…

This book is split up into three parts Finny’s, Jack’s, and lastly Autumn’s. I enjoyed seeing other perspectives but I wish we also got Sylvie’s or that we saw more of her in general I felt it would have matched the theme of healing this book has since she has a lot of healing to do herself.

Honestly I’m a little disappointed with this book because I think I had the wrong impression what it would be about.

I really really wanted a retelling of the first book completely through Finn’s POV. So you can imagine I ate up the first third of this book. And you can imagine my surprise and disappointment when the book starts pretty much at the end of the first book.

I adored Finn’s portion of this book , like seriously adored it. I really wish we could’ve had all four high school years, though i feel like that may not have been right either considering the insights he gives us about Slyvie.

The rest of the book was just really really depressing and disappointing for me. I think some lines were heartbreakingly beautiful which is why I didn’t DNF. But other times I was bored to be completely honest.

All this to say, I think I would’ve loved this book had my ideals about it been more accurate , and so with that being my fault and not the author’s in mind and how much I loved the first third, 3⭐️

Jesus. Nowlin does it again. I legit cried the whole book. I can't even describe how horrible and amazing this book is. The book is divided into three parts between Finn, Jack, and Autumn. This gives us two additional insights we didn't have in the previous book and the story extends beyond the first book. It was a tad hard to follow in the beginning as I made the mistake of not reading the first book again but I don't feel like i'm missing all that much as it goes on. The chapters are shot enough that I dont feel like it drags but long enough that it feels like every chapter is detailed. I won't spoil it but good lord every bit of this book was so sad I was crying from page 25 till the end. Thank you so much to Laura Nowlin for finishing this series even when you said it was over!
