I actually wanted to stop reading this book after the first chapter, but pushed through to page 110.
This whole book is just a huge cringefest. Between the copious amounts of weird food porn, to the odd sounds that "excite" another person while eating said food, to the odd moment where newly met ladies became instant "friends" who cursed "carbohydrates"....I was done.

I just finished Breaking All The Rules by Amy Andrews. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This story follows Beatrice (Bea) escaping the LA corporate lifestyle and moving to the small town of Credence, CO. To find herself and figure out her next steps in life.
Enter Deputy Austin Cooper (the ultimate book boyfriend), responding to a call from a anonymous concerned citizen…..
I love a good Small Town/Age gap trope. This book had everything I wanted and more. Had a bit of spice. It had humor and everything else you love and want in a good romance.
This is my first Amy Andrews novel, but I just discovered she has 3 Credence books with characters that appear in this book. I will definitely be reading those next!

BREAKING ALL THE RULES By Amy Andrews
Beatrice Archer has always done everything she’s supposed to —worked her ass off, ignored her non-existent personal life, and kept her mouth shut. Now she’s over it. The rat race, respectability…the underwire bras. She’s taking her life back. Starting with moving to Nowhere, Colorado to live life on her own terms.
😊What i liked -
✔ Age Gap/Small Town/He Falls First.
✔ I Loved how Bea's character was introduced in the book. It had me cackling.
✔ Austin and Bea's first meeting was hilarious.
✔ I Absolutely love the chemistry between the two. (I loved the flavours of pies involved)
✔ As usual, I love the way small town nosey characters work.
✔ This book was a good package of drama, angst, spice and Hea.
🤔What could have been better -
✔ Though I loved Bea's character, I found her to be a bit immature.

Breaking All the Rules is a lighthearted tale that takes you into the life of Beatrice Archer who has had only one goal in life, To get the coveted corner office in her advertising business. But she has never been appreciated even after her inhuman efforts and genius mind. She decides to leave the rat race, fancy clothes, high heels, and restricting bras behind by moving to the idyllic small town of Nowhere, Colorado where she hopes to live a simpler, easy going existence which by no means includes falling head over heals for the younger, ruggedly handsome, local Officer Austin Cooper who is entirely too charming for his own good.

Firstly, this cover is so misleading - it looks very women's fiction to me, and this book while has themes of strength and growth for Bea, is a romance. WITH SPICE. Which I was highly delighted by. However, the fun of the beginning of this book and the relationship for Bea and Cooper got hell frustrating hella fast when the relationship is a complete lack of communication/ definition of the relationship. It was very frustrating, and then the third-act breakup was just....not something I enjoyed.
Tropes: Reverse Age Gap ( FMC 35, MMC 25), Small Town Romance,
Brief Plot: Beatrice "Bea" is running away from her busy life in LA, and rented a room in Credence, Colorado. In this small town everyone knows everything about everyone, excuse Bea is reclusive. So a nosey neighbor calls Austin to check on Bea, and the two instantly find chemistry together, and Austin helps Bea break all the rules she has had engrained in her life. But will her old life manage to steal her away?

This meet-cute romantic comedy was as funny as it was sizzling hot.🔥 I loved Beatrice and her younger man cop. Small town, pies, and friendly people fill the pages of the book, along with laugh out loud antics. I need pie and day of the week panties after finishing up this book. I can't wait to read another by this author. Thank you, Entangled Publishing and Goodreads, for the complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
Started as a 4
This started out strong. I loved the characters, and I was totally immersed in the reading experience. About halfway through it started stuttering and getting...shallow, maybe? The last half was maybe a 2, so averaging to a 3.
